Jockey World's Derby Traditions Contest!

• In 250 words or less, explain how you celebrate the Derby each year.
• Do the watch it in person? At home with family? With friends?
• Explain your most memorable Derby! Is it a favorite horse? Jockey? Trainer?
• Any special rituals, food, et cetera? Tell us your story!
• Selected entries will be published in the Jockey World Traditions book which will be made available in the Jockey World online store. Stories need to be original work.
• Submissions close March 31, 2012
• Prizes will be awarded for selected entires.

Jockey World's 2012 Calendar Artwork/Photo Contest!

• Contest is for registered members of this Jockey World site only. It's free to register!

• Voting is open to the public, family, & friends. (voters do not have to be registered Jockey World Members).

• Ten winning entries will receive a 2012 Jockey World Calendar.

• Winners from outside of the United States will receive a calendar. However, Shipping fees outside of the United States are not the responsibility of Jockey World. All fees will need to be paid by the recepient in advance prior to shipment.

• In addition to receiving a calendar, the entry with most votes wins a 6 month Premiere Membership Subscription to Jockey World; the entry with the second most votes wins a 3 month Premiere Membership Subscription to Jockey World; the entry with third most votes wins a 1 month Premiere Membership Subscription to Jockey World

• Members can submit entries starting Sunday, October 30, 2011.

• Entry submission for the contest ends at 11:59 pm (EST) on November 15, 2011.

• Voting ends at 11:59 pm (EST on November 19, 2011.

• Winners will be announced November 20, 2011 on Jockey World Radio.

• Ten winners will be chosen with the most votes. In case of ties Jockey World will determine the winner(s).

• Winning photos will need to be emailed to info@jockeyworld.net.

• If more than one image is submitted and two or more images are voted in the top ten, the image with the highest number of votes will be selected for the Jockey World Calendar.

• Photos can be funny or silly but must be considered in good taste. No nudity or offensive images will be accepted.

• Photos submitted can be of Member or taken by Member from any time frame of their life.

• The Jockey World member is not required to be in the image.

• By entering this contest, the contestant understands and takes full responsibility by claiming that they own the rights to their submitted image and Jockey World will not be liable for any copyright violation.

• Submitted image must be horse oriented in some manner. Acceptable image themes include: horses, horse shows, horse racing, Halloween costumes, FFA horse projects, 4-H horse projects, barrel races, horse shows (English or Western), etc.

• If taking digital photos, use the highest quality settings on your camera to get the best results.

• If scanning artwork or photographs, be sure to set your scanners at 300 dpi and a print area of 8.5" x 11".

• Winning entries may be limited in their use in the calendar if they cannot meet technical requirements.

• Enhanced photos & artwork created using software such as Photoshop is acceptable. Remember to use image settings of 300 dpi and a print area of 8.5" x 11".

The following information of each winning member will be included in the Jockey World 2012 Calendar:

• Headshot photograph of  member.

• Member name.

• City and State of member's location.

• Short biography (from Jockey World Member profile information).

• Winning entries will be featured as an image of the month.

1. Important! Please take a moment read over the contest rules and guidelines. You must understand the guidelines otherwise your photo my not be eligible.
2. To get started, click on the "Click >HERE< to submit an entry or vote!" or the Photo Contest Banner. (at the top of this page) This will take you to the Photoscramble website that is hosting our Jockey World Calendar Photo Contest.
3. Once in Photoscramble, you should be on the Jockey World Calendar Contest Page. Click on the Submit Your Photo link. This will bring you to a registration page in the Photoscramble site. Please register with a user name and password that will enable you to upload your photo(s).(please write down or remember your user name and password for future contest and participation)
4. Once registered, you should be automatically re-directed to the Jockey World Calendar Photo Contest Upload Your Photograph page
5. Follow the directions and Photoscramble will easily walk you through each step of the process from there. DONE!

1. Click on the "Click >HERE< to submit an entry or vote!" or the Photo Contest Banner. This will take you to the Photoscramble website that is hosting our Jockey World Calendar Photo Contest.
2. Once in Photoscramble, you should be on the Jockey World Calendar Contest Page. Click on the View Entries & Vote  link. This will bring you to View Entries & Vote page.
3. See photos entered in contest, click on image to enlarge.
4. Select a photo(s) you would like to vote on and click Vote.
5. This will bring you to the next page with an enlarged version of the photo and click Vote For It!
6. A pop up window will appear asking for you to submit your name and email address, there is a character code you have to add the click Vote Now and you are Done!
